Many of the current nail desk extractors simply recirculate the solvent laden air within the salon. The multi-layered pre and chemical filters in the Pure Beauty fume extractor capture all the contaminants and return clean air into the salon.

Products used in Beauty Salons contain a variety of chemicals that may be potentially harmful to the health of employees and customers, as well as damaging to the environment.

Chemicals from solvent based products such as hardeners, drying and curing agents can be particularly hazardous because they can quickly become airborne and thus easily inhaled.

Also considered to be hazardous are the acrylics, in particular Methyl methacrylate (MMA), which is used to create nail extensions. Long term exposure to MMA can cause respiratory system and liver damage.  The dust created by nail filling and shaping contains an array of bacteria and substances including benzoyl peroxide, silica and methacrylate polymers.  Quick dry nail sprays, nail varnishes and removers can all contain toxic fumes.
